Immigration matters
include the receipt of a 90-day non-immigrant
student visa prior to arriving in Thailand, the
reporting of the student’s location to the Thai
Immigration Authorities every 90 days and the
procurement of Re-entry permits if they plan to
exit Thailand and return to continue their studies.
The Registrar’s Office provides assistance on
all these matters; it is generally not necessary
for a student to approach the Immigration Authorities
individually.
It is important for students to adhere to the
Immigration rules and follow recommended procedures
strictly. As non-residents, we are all guests
in the Kingdom of Thailand and should act accordingly.
After graduating from the university, if a student
is successful in finding employment within the
Kingdom, it will become the employer’s responsibility
to sponsor visas for non-Thai workers as well
as work permits. After residing in the Kingdom
for a consecutive period of three years, it is
possible for a non-Thai to apply for Permanent
Residency in compliance with regulations set forth
by the Thai Immigration Authority. |
