AU-Christ Twinning Program / Course Policies

Course Policies

Course Outlines

During the first week of each Semester, students will receive from their lecturers a "Course Outline" for each course for which they register.
The outline will:

a)  Summarize the material to be covered
b)  List of textbooks and outline reading assignments required
c)  List the grading practices to be followed and quiz / tests to be given.
d)  Specify those consultation hours per week during which lecturers are available for extra / informal tutorial assistance. The student is responsible for seeking such consultation with a lecturer

Course Final Examinations

In addition to any quizzes or other tests set by their lectures, all students will be required to sit for a compulsory, comprehensive final examination at the end of each course, during a scheduled "final exam" period which will be announced during each Semester

TextBooks

All students are expected to purchase or secure their own personal copies of required textbook materials. The Christ College library will have at least two copies of textbooks available for short-term borrowing.

Class Attendence and Tardiness

Students who misstwo or more consecutive classes will be reported to the Operational Director and may, at the discretion of the lecturer, be excluded from attending further classes until the absences have been approved by both the Operational Director and the faculty member concerned. Similarly frequent late coming to class may also result in such exclusion from class unless approved by the lecturer and the Operational Director.

Academic Dishonesty

Cheating, fabrication of lab results, plagiarism (copying from published works, or using other student's Reports, etc ), or knowingly helping others to engage in such academically dishonest acts will not be tolerated and may lead to:
a)  Failing grade for the work involved
b)  Failure in the course, and/or
c)  Permanent expulsion from the Program

Academic Probation and Dismissal:

Student will automatically be placed on academic probation whenever their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) fails below the required level. Two consecutive academic probation without extenuating circumstances, such as illness or financial or family problems, will result in official dismissal or suspension from the Programme for at least one Semester. The Co-ordinator will consider official re-admission on a case by case basis.

Course Cancellations

Christ college will attempt, whenever possible, to teach all of the courses currently listed in the Christ College - Assumption University Twinning Program in the recommended sequence for each Semester. However, a course that does not enroll ten (10) or more students in any one Semester may be canceled at the end of the first week of the Semester.
